Recap: Personal Branding Workshop with Julia Djeke

Last month, I had the opportunity to co-host a personal branding workshop with copywriter and brand strategist Julia Djeke. It was a small, intimate group—exactly the kind of setting where real conversations and breakthroughs can happen.

Why We Did It

Both Julia and I know how overwhelming it can feel to build a personal brand. Where do you start? How do you take everything you’ve done in your career and life and turn it into a brand story that feels authentic? Our goal was to create a space where women could slow down, reflect, and begin to put language and visuals around who they are and what they’re building.

What We Explored

  • The “why” behind your brand. Julia led thoughtful exercises to help participants dig into their story and uncover what drives them.

  • Voice and message. We looked at how tone, language, and messaging create consistency and clarity.

  • Visual branding. I shared how photography and visual choices can express your unique personality and support your message.

  • Confidence in showing up. Together, we talked about what it really means to be visible and how to embrace being the face of your brand.

The Energy in the Room

What stood out most was the openness of the group. Everyone came with questions, curiosity, and the willingness to share. There was laughter, a few lightbulb moments, and the reassurance that no one has to figure this out alone. Seeing the way participants encouraged and inspired each other reminded me why I love this work.

It also reinforced the importance of you starting with “your why” - the essential building blocks of your brand foundation.

Looking Back

This was a special workshop, especially co-hosting with Julia, who shared her agency expertise in marketing and copywriting. It was a reminder of how powerful it is to combine perspectives—strategy and storytelling, visuals and photography—to give women tools they can actually use to move forward.

For me, it reinforced what I believe at the core: your personal brand isn’t something you create once and leave behind. It’s something that evolves as you do. And when you’re willing to see yourself with fresh eyes—and allow others to see you that way too—that’s where the real magic happens.

If you are interested in building your personal brand, I invite you to review my new program The Brand Buildout. It’s never too late to start something new!
