Celebrating Women 50+: A New Vibrant & Visible Project
Nancy Leeser
One of the most exciting things I’m working on right now is a new project within the new Vibrant and Visible community (coming soon): highlighting women over 50 through portraits and short interview videos.
The idea is simple but powerful. I’m photographing women in this season of life—capturing their beauty, strength, and individuality—and pairing those images with short interviews where they share honest thoughts about aging, reinvention, and what it means to be visible.
Aging is so often framed as something to hide, but I believe it’s something to celebrate. Every line, every story, every perspective adds depth to who we are. Through these photos and conversations, I want to show that women over 50 are not fading into the background—we are vibrant, wise, and very much present. And, we aren’t done yet!
Each feature will include a portrait and a video where the women answer a few simple but meaningful questions about their experience of aging. I hope that these stories will spark connection, challenge stereotypes, and remind us all of the power that comes with embracing this stage of life.
This project is close to my heart, and I can’t wait to share each woman’s story with you. Below is the first feature video and here is a link to watch it on YouTube.
