4 Steps to Craft your Visual Personal Brand

Just like you need a marketing strategy, and a brand strategy, you need a strategy for your personal brand images. Quality, attractive images help you to break through the noise and stand out from your competition.

Here are 4 Steps that will help you craft your Visual Personal Brand:

Step #1: Write down the answers to the following questions:

Q: How do you want to be seen and how do you want people to feel

when they see your images - what's the impression you want to give?

Q: Who is your Ideal Client? Who are you trying to attract? Think of the images that would appeal to this type of client.

Q: Which parts of your personal and professional life do you want to share?

Ex. Home office/business /Ex. Working with clients /Ex. Where you spend your time - dog park, yoga, community.

Step #2: Create a Mood Board that has your brand colors and images that represent your brand aesthetic - Ex. modern, boho, corporate, luxury, sleek, moody, etc.

Step #3: Take the info from steps 1 & 2 and start a Pinterest Board and begin searching and pinning images that speak to you and inspire you based on the info from steps 1 & 2. These images will help create a design pattern and you will now have a clear vision of the style and types of images you want to represent and communicate your personal brand.

Step #4: When you have your Pinterest Board ready you can start to craft a final list of the images you want to create for your personal brand. Using this inspo you will need to think about your wardrobe, props that have your brand colors and/or products, and the locations that best represent you. From this you can create a shot list and start planning your photoshoot.

TIP: I give my clients additional exercises to help them think about the kinds of images they will need, for example, a future blog post on tips for healthier eating. The images they may need for this content could be: them cutting fruit in the kitchen, or, a picture of them at the farmer's market buying healthy food.

These 4 Steps will help you make a list of different styles and types of images you need which is Crafting Your Visual Personal Brand. Now you are strategic in how you create your images so you don't end up with a bunch of headshot images with the same poses, location and clothing after your branding shoot.

There you go, you are on your way to crafting your Visual Brand and as always, if you need help or have questions Iā€™m a click away.
