Q: What do you wish society understood better about women over 50?

Nancy: I think the bottom line is we're no different than we have been, and that age makes you more confident and maybe wiser — but you're still the same person.

I think I’m exploring the fact that I have more free time and more flexibility. I still have the same kinds of things I want to do.

I think maybe I have a shorter runway, and I better start doing some of them sooner rather than later.

Q: Are there dreams or goals you are just starting to explore now?

Nancy: I guess it’s the cliché that you’re more confident and more comfortable in your skin. When I was younger, I felt like I was just surviving and chasing everything, and now it’s just much more relaxed and comfortable.

Q: What do you love most about this age?

Nancy: Well, that’s an interesting question. Probably not to sweat anything. Not the small stuff or the big stuff. It’s like everything does work out however it’s going to, and you don’t have to sweat it.
